Chiswick Park was once an outlaying hamlet of South Farm back in c.1000 when Chiswick was part of St Paul’s estate. In later years the area was known as a trading post between Hammersmith and Brentford and was covered in storage units and barns. This theme continued until the 1850’s when a great number of houses were built on industrial /rural sites to accommodate railway works and to house the workers for the many newly opened factories such as Cherry Blossom shoe polish and Sanderson Wallpapers.
