Berestede Road is situated in the locality of East Chiswick, within the area of Chiswick. The first electric tramways in London started operating in April 1901 from LUET’s headquarters on the High Road, and includes the routes from Shepherd’s Bust to Young’s Corner and from Hammersmith to Kew Bridge. The car shed that held these trams became Stamford Brook bus garage in 1980. A small part of the top of the tram power house was converted into flats and recording studios in 1985. Chiswick and West London Bowling and Lawn Tennis Club was founded in Airedale Avenue in 1920. This site is currently used by the Hogarth Health Club.
