As fruit prices began to fall the land owners decided to build houses to generate income. In 1935 a small amount of the orchard remained which was the site of the development known as
Chiswick Village.
Chiswick Village is a development of 15 blocks containing 220 flats that was built by the People’s Housing Corporation and was originally named in the plans as Chiswick Court Gardens. The development has received much acclaim over time.
