Give a hedgehog a home in Chiswick

The UK hedgehog population is in decline, with urban numbers falling by up to 30% in the past 20 years. This is a tragedy, especially since they are gardeners' best friends, munching their way through pesky slugs.

Why not build a cosy hedgehog home in your garden ready for when they start house-hunting in the autumn? Putting it in place during spring and summer will encourage these prickly yet adorable creatures to rest, hibernate and raise their hoglets.

Attend a talk in Chiswick by Hugh Warwick - hedgehog expert and author

Find out more about them and the ways we can help them flourish in and around our gardens by attending a talk by Hugh Warwick,  an ecologist and a spokesperson for the British Hedgehog Preservation Society.

Hugh has researched and authored several books about hedgehogs and the landscape we share with wildlife. London HogWatch will be available at the event to explain how you can help map hedgehogs in Chiswick.
