'Make Some Noise' charity raises £1m Global’s Make Some Noise is a national charity that helps disadvantaged children and young people across the UK. The initiative made radio history on 9 October, when it raised more than £1 million for disadvantaged youngsters. Global is a media company and home to radio stations Heart, Capital FM, Classic FM, Smooth, LBC, Capital Xtra, XFM and Gold. Every year the stations unite behind Make Some Noise to raise money. LBC did its bit in supporting the cause with some 'money can't buy' auction prizes donated by presenters and celebrities. James O’Brien’s Mystery Hour is a weekly opportunity to submit a question and get an answer live on the show. He enlists the help of LBC listeners to solve some of life’s puzzling questions such as 'Has the Queen ever unlocked her own front door?', 'Why are apartments so called when they're not apart?' and 'How do they remove Banksy's graffiti from buildings in order to sell them?' During a special 'Make Some Noise Mystery Hour' on 9 Oct there was a holiday to Washington DC up for auction, and listeners were asked to make a donation to the charity in order to contribute a question. “Just a small donation is more than enough, or as much as you like", said James O’Brien. "Here is an email that’s just come in. I wouldn’t mention this normally but he’s made absolutely no request for publicity for this, so I’m going to give him some, because he’s my local estate agent. “Christian Harper over at Harper Finn estate agents in Chiswick, has just pledged £500 without even asking a question on Mystery Hour. That’s fantastic mate! We are grateful to you and we will indeed be in contact so you can arrange that donation." Christian Harper on LBC  "In a world with so many global problems its so easy to overlook disadvantaged people much closer to home" said Christian. "Events like LBC's Make Some Noise make me proud to be British"  Mystery Hour is on Thursdays at 12-1pm. If you have a question in dire need of an answer call 0345 6060973. There's one thing for sure - you will know more on Thursday at one o'clock than you do now! Previous questions include: Why do you get more drunk in a bar than at home?
