In a city this big, it can be difficult to choose the best location, especially when there are multiple deciding factors. A new
interactive guide to London’s best boroughs combines official data with unique survey results.
Boroughs are ranked according to seven key factors: happiness, affordability, crime rate, quietness, ‘outstanding’ schools, green space and cool factor. Users can filter the data via their most important requirements to determine which London borough is right for them.
In Chiswick, W4, Hounslow is ranked best for ‘greenery’ and worst for ‘cool factor’, whilst Ealing, taking all factors into account, is ranked fifth top borough overall. If ‘safety’ and ‘quietness’ are crucial, then consider moving to Sutton as it has the lowest crime and noise ratings.
If the cool factor is your kryptonite, then an impressive 41% of survey respondents say Southwark is the coolest, home to hip-and-happening Peckham as well as Bermondsey and Dulwich. Camden has been voted the second coolest, followed by Kensington and Chelsea.
Taking into account all factors, these are the best boroughs in which to live.
1. Richmond upon Thames
2. Bromley
3. Sutton
4. Kingston upon Thames
5. Ealing
The bottom areas overall are:
32. Lambeth
31. Islington
30. Brent
29. Haringey
28. Westminster
