St Peter’s Square was laid out in about 1825, and was originally a private square. The statue is
The Greek Runner (1879), by Sir William Blake Richmond. The houses are a good example of 19th century squares architecture, with paired villas in classical style arranged around a central space. Black Lion Lane has no less than 3
blue plaques, but there isn't one on no 8, the home of
May Morris, daughter of William and an important socialist in her own right. May Morris later collated her father's Collected Works.
St. Peter’s Square & Black Lion Lane is considered to be one of the highest profile neighborhoods in West London due to a combination of outstanding Historic buildings, general attraction of the area and excellent transport connections into and out of town.
Located predominantly on the North side of the A4/M4, East of British Grove, South of King Street and West of Beavor Lane.
