Kitchen designers and property developers have revealed that almost half of their customers have requested wine coolers in the last year. The appliance is named as the number one kitchen must-have with 48% of customers requesting one in their home, up by a third in the last 12 months.
A quarter (26 per cent) of property developers surveyed stated that they now install wine coolers as standard in all their new-build developments and a further 50 per cent have started installing them as standard in some of their properties. Only three per cent do not offer wine coolers to customers according to the research.
Beyond wine coolers, kitchen designers and property developers reveal a number of other current kitchen ‘must-haves’. Topping the list is boiling water taps, which 43 per cent said was currently trending. Induction hobs and the use of specialised materials such as copper for the sink or marble worktops follow in second and third place respectively.
